THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO JOHN

Chapter 17

Heavenly Father, please show me clearly what glorious hope from God in Heaven is given unto me in this prayer of my Precious Lord Jesus Christ. Please give me full Spiritual understanding of this prayer prayed by God Himself. Please teach me clearly just which words are prayed for me.

“These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee:” (Verse 1)

Heavenly Father, I confess that Thou hast glorified Thy Son, Jesus Christ, hath highly exalted Jesus, and hath given Him a Name that is above every other name. I also confess that Jesus Christ hast perfectly glorified God the Father in Heaven. Heavenly Father, please enable me to perfectly glorify Thee by my life on earth.

“As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.” (Verse 2)

Heavenly Father, I confess that Thou hast given Jesus Christ power over all flesh, that He should give eternal life to as many as Thou hast given Him. Heavenly Father, please give me unto Thy Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. Lord Jesus, please give me eternal life.

“And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Je’sus Christ, whom thou hast sent.” (Verse 3)

Almighty Lord God the Father in Heaven, I confess that Thou art the only True God. I confess that Thou hast sent Jesus Christ into this world. I confess that to know God the Father and Jesus Christ is life eternal. Heavenly father, I desire to Thee and Jesus Christ to the fullest extent possible in this life. I desire to have Thy Eternal Life.

“I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.” (Verse 4)

Almighty God the Father in Heaven, I confess that The Lord Jesus Christ glorified Thee while on this earth. I confess that Jesus finished the work on earth which Thou gavest Him to do. Please enable me to glorify Thee to the greatest extent possible while on earth. Please clearly guide me in the work which Thou hast given me to do on earth and enable me to completely finish it.

“And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.” (Verse 5)

Heavenly Father, I confess that Thou hast glorified The Lord Jesus Christ with Thine Own Self with the glory which Christ had with Thee before the world was. Please teach me the full meaning of that wonderful Truth. Please reveal Thy Great Glory unto me.

“I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word.” (Verse 6)

Lord Jesus Christ, I confess that Thou hast manifested Thy Name unto the men which God the Father gavest Thee out of the world. I confess that I am also a soul whom God the Father hath given Thee out of this world. I confess that Thou, Lord Jesus, hast manifested Thy Glorious Name unto me. I confess that I belong to God the Father. I confess that I also belong to Thee, my Sweet Lord Jesus. I confess that I wholly desire to keep Thy word. Please enable me to keep Thy word.

“Now they have known that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are of thee.” (Verse 7)

Heavenly Father, I confess that all things whatsoever Thou hast given unto the Lord Jesus Christ are of Thee, God the Father.

“For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.” (Verse 8)

Heavenly Father, I confess that the Lord Jesus Christ hast given unto me the words which Thou gavest unto Him. I confess that I have received those words of Thine. I confess that I believe all Thy Words, Heavenly Father. I confess unto Thee, that I surely know that Jesus Christ came out from Thee, God the Father. Of a surety, I believe that God the Father didst send Jesus Christ into this world.

“I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine.” (Verse 9)

Lord Jesus, I reverently thank Thee for praying unto God the Father for me. I believe that God the Father hath given me unto Thee, Lord Jesus. Thus I believe that I belong unto Thee and that I belong unto God the Father.

“And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them.” (Verse 10)

Lord Jesus Christ, I confess that all human souls that belong unto Thee belong unto God the Father. I confess that all human souls that belong unto God the Father belong unto Thee. I confess that I am Thine, Lord Jesus. I confess that I belong unto the Lord Jesus Christ and unto God the Father. I desire to glorify both God the Father and my Saviour, Jesus Christ. Please enable me to do so.

“And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.” (Verse 11)

Lord Jesus, tho Thou are not presently in this world bodily, I know that Thou doest care for me here on earth. Thank Thee, for praying to God the Holy Father to keep thru His Own Name, believers such as I. I desire to be one with my God. Please grant this desire of mine.

“While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.” (Verse 12)

Lord Jesus Christ, I confess that Thou doest keep us believers by Thy Almighty Power. Lord Jesus, I praise Thee for saving me by God’s Power and for keeping me by God’s Power. I confess that I am not a child of perdition, but rather I am a child of God by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, the Saviour of the World.

“And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves.” (Verse 13)

Lord Jesus, I thank Thee for speaking to and praying to God the Father on my behalf and for my benefit. Heavenly Father, I pray unto Thee, for The Lord Jesus Christ’s Joy to be fulfilled in me, just as my Lord Jesus prayed unto Thee for His Joy to be fulfilled in believers like me.

“I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.” (Verse 14)

Lord Jesus, I praise Thy Name for giving me God the Father’s word. I confess the truth that the world doeth hate me because I am not of the world, just as Thou art not of the world.

“I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.” (Verse 15)

Heavenly Father, please keep me from the evil. Please enable me to fully accomplish all the work for God that my Lord Jesus Christ left me here on this earth to do.

“They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.” (Verse 16)

Our Father Who art in Heaven, I confess that I am not of the world, even as my precious Lord Jesus Christ is not of the world. I am a heavenly creation, having been born again as a child of God by God’s Power thru faith in the Saviour of the world, Jesus Christ. Glory!

“Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.” (Verse 17)

Almighty Jehovah God the Father, please sanctify me through Thy Truth. I confess that Thy Word is Truth. Please help me to fully believe and obey all Thy Word.

“As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.” (Verse 18)

Lord Jesus, I confess that Thou hast sent me into the world; just as God the Father didst send Thee into the world. Please guide me daily to go where Thou wouldest have me to go and to do what Thou wouldest have me to do while I am here in the world.

“And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.” (Verse 19)

Lord Jesus Christ, I confess that Thou doest sanctify Thyself for my sake, that I also might be sanctified through the Truth. Heavenly Father, I earnestly desire to be sanctified by Almighty God. Please sanctify me through God’s Truth. I now fully yield myself to Thee, my Creator God, for that purpose.

“Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;” (Verse 20)

Lord Jesus Christ, I have believed on Thee through the word that Thou didst give unto Thy disciples while Thou wast on this earth. I praise Thy Name for praying to God the Father for me.

“That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.” (Verse 21)

Lord Jesus Christ, I desire to be one with Thee and God the Father and all other Christian believers. Please grant this desire of my heart. I pray that all the world would believe that God the Father sent His Son, Jesus Christ into this world.

“And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:” (Verse 22)

Lord Jesus, I thank Thee and praise Thee for giving unto me, as one who believes on Thee, the Glory which God the Father didst give unto Thee. I confess that God unites the members of Thy Body, which is Thy Church, as one.

“I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.” (Verse 23)

Lord Jesus Christ, I confess that by the indwelling to God The Holy Spirit, Thou doest dwell in each person who believes on Thee. I believe on Thee, Lord Jesus. I confess that Thou doest dwell in me. Thank Thee, Lord Jesus, for dwelling in me. Heavenly Father, I confess to Thee and to my Lord Jesus Christ that Thou art in Christ. I confess that Christ is in Christian believers and that Thou art in Christ for the purpose that Christian believers be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that Thou, God the Father hast sent God the Son, Jesus Christ, and hast loved us believers as Thou hast loved Jesus Christ. I thank Thee, God the Father, for loving me. I love Thee. Please help me to love my Creator God with all my heart.

“Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.” (Verse 24)

Heavenly Father, I confess that Thou didst love Thy Son, Jesus Christ before the foundation of the world. I thank Thee for giving me to the Lord Jesus Christ. I desire to always be with my Lord Jesus to behold His Glory, which Thou hast given unto Him. Please grant this heart’s desire of mine.

“O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me.” (Verse 25)

Heavenly Father, I confess that the people of the world have not known Thee. I confess that Thy Son Jesus Christ doeth fully know Thee. I confess that I know that Thou didst send Christ into this world.

“And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.” (Verse 26)

Lord Jesus Christ, thank Thee for declaring unto me the Name of God the Father, Almighty Jehovah God. Heavenly Father, I desire that the love wherewith Thou hast loved Jesus Christ may be in me, and that Jesus Christ may be in me. Please grant this request of mine.

Heavenly Father, I pray all these things for all human souls now upon the face of this earth. I pray unto Thee in the Name of God the Son, The Lord Jesus Christ. I ask Thee to please answer these prayers of mine for The Lord Jesus Christ’s Name’s sake. Amen.
