THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO JOHN

Chapter 8

Abba Father, as I now read and pray John chapter 8, I cry unto Thee to now send Thy Holy Spirit ever so powerfully upon me to make each word of this Everlasting and Holy Scripture everything Thou has ordained that it be to me, an eternal soul created by Thee for Thy Great Glory.”

“Jesus went unto the mount of Olives.” (Verse 1)

“And early in the morning he came again into the temple, and all the people came unto him; and he sat down, and taught them.” (Verse 2)

Lord Jesus Christ, didst Thou pray to God the Father all that night out on the Mount of Olives? Please help me to follow Thy Perfect Example and spend much time alone with God the Father, praying to Him. Lord Jesus, I come to Thee as these people came to Thee. Please teach me everything I should know. Stir up my heart to daily read and study The Holy Bible much and to meditate on Thy Holy Scriptures. Please perfect Almighty God’s Wisdom and Knowledge within me. Please sit before me now, and teach me God’s Truth I should know.

“And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst,” (Verse 3)

Heavenly Father, I intercede in prayer for adulterers and adulteresses. Smite them powerfully with conviction of their sins. Cause them to repent and to forsake the destructive sin of adultery.

“They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act.” (Verse 4)

“Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou?” (Verse 5)

Almighty God, save me from stepping out of my rightful place and accusing others of sin when it is not my lot to do so. Help me to be ever so careful in this matter.

“This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not.” (Verse 6)

Lord Jesus Christ, please have great mercy on me and save me from the awful sin of tempting Thee or accusing Thee. I worship Thee, Lord Jesus, as Almighty God. I worship Thy Perfection. I confess that Thou hast done all things well. I confess that I find no fault in Thee. Thou art an Upright and Holy God, and I worship Thee as such.

“So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.” (Verse 7)

Heavenly Father, please send Thy Holy Spirit into my spirit to reveal to me just how sinful I am. Save me from casting stones at other people because of their sins. Teach me to rather intercede in prayer for them to be saved from their sins. I confess that I have sinned against Almighty God my Creator. Please save me from my sins.

“And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground.” (Verse 8)

Lord Jesus, didst Thou write the Ten Commandments? Didst Thou write Almighty God’s Law in the dirt? Is that what convicted the consciences of these accusers? Please help me to fully obey God’s Law.

“And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.” (Verse 9)

Almighty Lord Jehovah God, please cause me to hear Thy Word. Cause me to hear Thy Divine Law. And by doing so, please convict my guilty conscience. Save me from ever rebelling against The Holy Spirit’s conviction.

“When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?” (Verse 10)

Lord Jesus Christ, save me from accusing others. Save me from condemning others.

“She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.” (Verse 11)

Lord Jesus Christ, please extend great mercies unto me and do not condemn me for my sins. Please have mercy on me and forgive me just as Thou forgavest this woman. Please help me to go on from now, walking in Thy Perfect Will. Please guard, protect, and keep me that I sin no more. Save me, Lord please, from sinning.

Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” (Verse 12)

Lord Jesus Christ, I worship Thee as the Light of the world. I desire to follow Thee. Please guide me to follow Thee whithersoever Thou goest. I desire to not walk in darkness. I desire to have the Light of Life. Please save me from walking in darkness. Please guide me to walk in Thy Light. Please shine the Light of Life into my heart and life. Help me to always walk in Almighty God’s Glorious Light.

“The Pharisees therefore said unto him, Thou bearest record of thyself; thy record is not true.” (Verse 13)

Lord Jesus Christ, I confess that Thy Record is True. I confess that all Thy Words are True. I confess that Thou art Perfect Almighty God, and I fervently worship Thee as such.

“Jesus answered and said unto them, Though I bear record of myself, yet my record is true: for I know whence I came, and whither I go; but ye cannot tell whence I come, and whither I go.” (Verse 14)

Lord Jesus, I confess that Thy Record is True. I confess that Thou art Truth. I worship Thee as Truth. I desire to know from whence Thou didst come. I desire to know whither Thou didst go. Please teach me fully of Thee. I desire to know Thee fully, Lord Jesus.

“Ye judge after the flesh; I judge no man.” (Verse 15)

Almighty Lord Jehovah God, please save me from judging after the flesh. Convince me that after my life on earth ends, I will meet Thee in Judgment and be judged by Thee. Please guide me to fully prepare to meet my Creator God in Judgment.

“And yet if I judge, my judgment is true: for I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent me.” (Verse 16)

Lord Jesus, I confess that Thy Judgment is True. I confess that Thou art not alone. I confess that God the Father is with Thee. I confess that God the Father sent Thee to this earth to save us from our sins. Lord Jesus, I desire to be with Thee where Thou and God the Father art.

“It is also written in your law, that the testimony of two men is true.” (Verse 17)

“I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me.” (Verse 18)

Lord Jesus Christ, I confess that both Thou and God the Father bear witness of Thee. I confess that these two testimonies and witnesses are true.

“Then said they unto him, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye neither know me, nor my Father: if ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also.” (Verse 19)

Almighty Lord God in Heaven, please stir up within me a burning, earnest desire to fully know both God the Father and God the Son, Jesus Christ. Please send Thy Holy Spirit into my spirit to fully reveal Almighty God to me.

“These words spake Jesus in the treasury, as he taught in the temple: and no man laid hands on him; for his hour was not yet come.” (Verse 20)

Our Father which art in Heaven, please help me to fully surrender my entire life and being to Thee, my Creator God, for the purpose of Thee perfectly ordering every aspect and event of my being and life in accordance with Thy Divine Will for my life on earth.

“Then said Jesus again unto them, I go my way, and ye shall seek me, and shall die in your sins: whither I go, ye cannot come.” (Verse 21)

Lord Jesus Christ, please do not ever depart from me. Please do not ever leave me nor forsake me. Please empower me to seek Thee with all my heart. Please be found of me. Where art Thou, Lord Jesus? Please have mercy on me and save me from dying in my sins. Please allow me to come whither Thou doest go.

“Then said the Jews, Will he kill himself? because he saith, Whither I go, ye cannot come.”(Verse 22)

“And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world.” (Verse 23)

Lord Jesus Christ, I confess that Thou didst so love the lost souls of this world that Thou didst come to die for us. Please save me from being of this world. Please make me one of Thine. Please write my name in the Lamb’s Book of Life. Please make me a citizen of Heaven. Please make me a pilgrim and stranger on this earth, traveling to the Celestial City in God’s Heaven to be with Thee forever.

“I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.” (Verse 24)

Lord Jesus Christ, I believe that Thou art God the Son, the Saviour of the world. I trust in Thee as my Saviour to save me from dying in my sins and going to Hell and to take me to God’s Heaven.

“Then said they unto him, Who art thou? And Jesus saith unto them, Even the same that I said unto you from the beginning.” (Verse 25)

“I have many things to say and to judge of you: but he that sent me is true; and I speak to the world those things which I have heard of him.” (Verse 26)

Lord Jesus, please help me to carefully listen to all the many things Thou hast to say unto me. Please speak unto me those things that Thou hast heard of God the Father.

“They understood not that he spake to them of the Father.” (Verse 27)

Lord Jesus Christ, please speak unto me everything I should hear from God. Then please grant me perfect understanding of all the glorious things that Thou doest speak to me. Please save me from all spiritual ignorance.

“Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.” (Verse 28)

Lord Jesus, I confess that Thou art the Christ. I confess that Thou art God the Son and the Son of man. I confess that Thou art the Saviour of the world. I worship Thee as such. I confess that I can do nothing of myself. Please empower me to do Almighty God’s Perfect Will. Please guide and teach me to speak the things that God the Father doeth teach me.

“And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.” (Verse 29)

Heavenly Father, please help me to be Christ-like by always doing those things that please Thee. I thank Thee, that Thou hast not left me. Lord Jesus, I thank Thee for Thy Precious Promise that Thou will never leave me nor forsake me.

“As he spake these words, many believed on him.” (Verse 30)

Lord Jesus Christ, I confess that I believe on Thee. Please perfect my faith in Almighty Jehovah God. I now intercede for lost souls around me, praying that they will also believe on Thee.

“Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;”(Verse 31)

Lord Jesus, please protect my daily spiritual walk, causing me to continue in Thy Word. I desire to be Thy disciple. Please make me Thy disciple indeed. Please teach me everything that is required of a disciple of Thine.

“And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” (Verse 32)

Lord Jesus, I confess that Thou art Truth. I reverently worship Thee as Truth. Please teach me fully of God’s Truth. Impart unto me perfect knowledge and understanding of God’s Pure Truth. Give me faith to believe all Thy Truth, and create within me a heart that will obey all Thy Truth. Lord Jesus, by Thy Truth, please make me fully free.

“They answered him, We be Abraham’s seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free?” (Verse 33)

Lord Jesus Christ, please wholly reveal to me all the bondage that is in my life and in my being. Save me from being deceived by thinking that I am not in bondage to anything or to anyone.

“Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.” (Verse 34)

Almighty Lord Jehovah God, please send Thy Holy Spirit to shine Thy Pure Light into my heart and being, to reveal to me all the sin in my life. Show me clearly just in what ways I am now a servant to sin.

“And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever.” (Verse 35)

Lord Jesus Christ, I worship Thee as Everlasting God.

“If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.” (Verse 36)

Lord Jesus Christ, I confess that Thou art Almighty God the Son. I desire of Thee to make me free. Please make me free indeed.

“I know that ye are Abraham’s seed; but ye seek to kill me, because my word hath no place in you.” (Verse 37)

Lord Jesus, I desire that Thy Word have full and free reign in my heart. Please create such a heart in me, a heart in which Thy Word fully and freely reigns.

“I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen with your father.” (Verse 38)

Heavenly Father, I desire that Thou be my Spiritual Father. Please have mercy upon me and make me into a child of Thine thru faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

“They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham’s children, ye would do the works of Abraham.” (Verse 39)

Heavenly Father, please guide me perfectly into doing Thy Works, as Thy dear child.

“But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God: this did not Abraham.” (Verse 40)

Lord Jesus, please tell me all of Almighty God’s Truth that Thou desirest that I know. Please have mercy upon me to save me from ever opposing Thee or Thy Truth. Please save me from refusing Thy Truth. Please save me from rebelling against Thy Truth. Please give me a great love and high regard for all Thy Truth. Please help me to obey all Thy Truth.

“Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God.” (Verse 41)

Heavenly Father, I desire to truly be Thy Child. I earnestly desire to do Thy Deeds. Please grant these desires for me.

“Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded froth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.” (Verse 42)

Heavenly Father, I confess that the Lord Jesus Christ proceeded froth from Thee and came from Thee. I confess that God the Father didst send the Lord Jesus Christ into this world. Heavenly Father, I love Thee. Lord Jesus, I love Thee. Please perfect my love toward my Creator God. Please enable me to love Thee with all my heart with a perfect love.

“Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word.” (Verse 43)

Lord Jesus Christ, please give me ears to hear Thy Word. Please create within me a heart that fully understands Thy Speech.

“Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.” (Verse 44)

Almighty Lord Jehovah God on High, I acknowledge that the existence of Lucifer, Satan, the Devil, is Truth. I acknowledge that Lucifer was created perfect by Almighty God, but freely chose to become God’s archenemy. I acknowledge that because of Eve’s and Adam’s disobedience to their Creator God, all their offspring (the human race) are born as sinners and as children of the devil. I acknowledge that the devil is a murderer and a liar in whom is no truth. Father God in Heaven, I do not want to continue to be a child of the devil. Please make me into a child of Thine, thru faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

“And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not.” (Verse 45)

Lord Jesus Christ, I confess that all Thy Words are Truth. I confess that Thou art Truth. I worship Thee as Truth. Please teach me fully of Thy Truth and create within me a heart to believe all Thy Truth.

“Which of you convinceth me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe me? (Verse 46)

Lord Jesus Christ, I confess that Thou art without sin. I confess that Thou art Perfect. I confess that Thou art Almighty God. I confess that all Thy Words are Truth and that all souls should believe all Thy Words.

“He that is of God heareth God’s words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.” (Verse 47)

Heavenly Father, please make me “of God.” Please cause me to hear and to believe all of God’s Words.

“Then answered the Jews, and said unto him, Say we not well that thou art a Sa-mar’-i-tan, and hast a devil?” (Verse 48)

Lord Jesus Christ, I confess that Thou art Almighty God, the Creator of all mankind and Creator of all things that are created. I confess that Thou art Pure, Holy, True, and Righteous without sin. I fervently worship Thee as such.

“Jesus answered, I have not a devil; but I honour my Father, and ye do dishonour me.” (Verse 49)

Lord Jesus Christ, I confess that Thou doest honour God the Father. I also desire to honour God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Please save me from the awful sin of dishonouring my Creator God. Please create a heart within me that will fully honour God.

“And I seek not mine own glory: there is one that seeketh and judgeth.” (Verse 50)

Heavenly Father, save me from the sinful vanity of seeking my own glory. Help me to be Christ-like by not seeking my own glory. Please help me to seek to glorify God The Father with my life on earth. I acknowledge that after this life on earth, I will be judged by my Creator God. Please guide me to fully prepare for Judgment Day.

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death.” (Verse 51)

Lord Jesus Christ, I fully believe this most wonderful and hope filled promise of Thine. Please help me to keep all Thy sayings. I desire to never see death. Please be my Eternal Life. Please give me Perfect Faith to trust in Thee, Lord Jesus, as my Eternal Life.

“Then said the Jews unto him, Now we know that thou hast a devil. Abraham is dead, and the prophets; and thou sayest, If a man keep my saying, he shall never taste of death.” (Verse 52)

Lord Jesus, I confess that Thou art Perfectly True and Upright. I confess that this saying of Thine is Almighty God’s Eternal Truth.

“Art thou greater than our father Abraham, which is dead? and the prophets are dead: whom makest thou thyself?” (Verse 53)

Lord Jesus Christ, I confess that Thou art much higher and greater than all people. Thou art Almighty God our Creator. Thou art the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Thou art the Saviour of the world. Lord Jesus, truly Thou art everything Thou professed to be when Thou didst dwell upon this earth in the form of a human man. I worship Thee as such. Lord Jesus, I confess that Thou hast never made any false claims. I confess that Thou art Truth and that all Thy Words are True.

“Jesus answered, If I honour myself, my honour is nothing: it is my Father that honoureth me; of whom ye say, that he is your God:” (Verse 54)

Almighty Lord Jehovah Father God, I confess that Thou doest honour Thy only begotten Son, The Lord Jesus Christ. Please enable me to always honour Thee and to always honour The Lord Jesus Christ.

“Yet ye have not known him; but I know him: and if I should say, I know him not, I shall be a liar like unto you: but I know him, and keep his saying.” (Verse 55)

Our Father, which art in Heaven, how tragic the state of the human soul who knoweth Thee not, being that Thou art their Creator God. Heavenly Father, I desire to know Thee to the fullest extent possible during my life on earth. Please grant that desire of mine. By Thy Holy Spirit, please reveal Thyself unto me. Please cause me to know Thee fully. Please cause me to keep Thy Sayings. I pray that all other human souls now on this earth will come to know Thee fully and will keep Thy Sayings.

“Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad.” (Verse 56)

Lord Jesus Christ, I heartily confess that I rejoice to see Thy Day. I confess that Thou doest make me most joyful and glad. I worship Thee as my Lord and my Creator God. I worship Thee as my All.

“Then said the Jews unto him, thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham?” (Verse 57)

Lord Jesus Christ, I confess that Thou art Eternal God, from everlasting to everlasting, with no beginning and no end. I lovingly worship Thee as such.

“Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.” (Verse 58)

Lord Jesus Christ, I confess that Thou art the Great I Am. I worship Thee as such.

“Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going thru the midst of them, and so passed by.” (Verse 59)

Lord Jesus, I worship Thee as a Worker of Miracles. What a miracle here that Thou didst pass safely thru the midst of these rebels set upon stoning Thee to death. I praise Thy Name for keeping me safely in Thy Care. I praise Thee for daily working miracles for me.

Almighty Lord Jehovah God, all the things I have prayed in this Chapter 8 of the Gospel according to John, I earnestly pray them for all human souls now on this earth. And I ask all these things in the Name of The Lord Jesus Christ, and for Christ’s Precious Name’s Sake. Thank Thee, Heavenly Father, for hearing and answering prayer. Amen!
