THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO JOHN

Chapter 6 (Part 1)

Abba Father in Heaven, I cry unto Thee in my desperate need of a full knowledge of my Creator God and of Thy Holy Scriptures. Please send Thy Holy Spirit most mightily and powerfully upon me right now to impart unto me a full understanding of all Thy Words in John chapter 6. Please enable me to apply all this Scripture to my being and to my daily life here on earth and to proclaim these Holy Words in Holy Ghost Power to every soul I possibly can.

“After these things Je’sus went over the sea of Gal’i-lee, which is the sea of Ti-be’ri-as.” (Verse 1)

Lord Jesus, I desire to always walk with Thee, ever so close to Thee, Precious Lord, whithersoever Thou doest go. Lead me clearly all along the way. Keep me from ever straying away from Thee.

“And a great multitude followed him, because they saw his miracles which he did on them that were diseased.” (Verse 2)

Lord Jesus, I worship Thee as Almighty God Who doest miracles. Please make my life into a miraculous life that greatly glorifies Thee. Please help me to follow Thee out of loving obedience to Thee, regardless of whether or not miracles are manifest unto me. Lord Jesus Christ, I worship Thee as The One, True, Creator God Who healeth all my diseases. I cry out to Thee now for miraculous healing because I am totally diseased in body, soul, and spirit. By Thy Holy Spirit’s Divine Light, please show me clearly and fully just how badly I am diseased in Thy Sight. Help me to fully trust in Thee to fully heal me; body, soul, and spirit. Help me to always love and serve Thee with all my heart, no matter what diseases and ailments afflict me.

Lord Jesus Christ, please cause me to think deeply on the Truth that great multitudes of souls followed Thee because they readily perceived the much help available in Thee for them. Please make me into a child of Almighty God. Please make me into one of Thy disciples. Please make me a channel of great blessing, help, and comfort to the multitude of human souls around me. Fill me full to running over with God’s Holy Ghost Power for the purpose of enabling me to be a great Spiritual help to many people for their benefit and for Thy Great Glory.

“And Je’sus went up into a mountain, and there he sat with his disciples.” (Verse 3)

Lord Jesus Christ, please cause me to always sit at Thy Feet, in most sweet fellowship with Thee, ever praying to Thee, worshipping Thee ever, and ever learning from Thee.

“And the passover, a feast of the Jews, was nigh.” (Verse 4)

Heavenly Father, I pray for the salvation of the Jews and for Thy Greatest Blessings, Prosperity, and Protection upon Thy Chosen Nation, Israel.

When Je’sus then lifted up his eyes, and saw a great company come unto him, he saith unto Phil-ip, Whence shall we buy bread, that these may eat?”(Verse 5)

Lord Jesus, please draw all people unto Thee and cause all souls to believe on Thee as Lord and Saviour. Help me to carefully listen to every word of Thine, especially Thy Questions. Cause me to ponder the answers to Thy questions. Please give me spiritual wisdom and discernment to know the answers to Thy Questions.

“And this he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he would do.” (Verse 6)

Lord Jesus Christ, I worship Thee, as Almighty God Who never wavers. Please convince me that I can fully and assuredly trust in Thy Steadfastness and Faithfulness. I worship Thee as my Creator God Who proves me, just as Thou didst prove Philip here. Please make me strong in faith so I will not fail Thee when Thou doest prove me. Please reveal to me Thy Divine Will for my life on earth. Then please enable me to always steadfastly do Thy Will, never wavering or faltering or failing.

“Phil’ip answered him, Two hundred pennyworth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may take a little.” (Verse 7)

Lord Jesus, teach me how that Philip failed the test when Thou didst prove him. He looked on the visible only. He looked only on what little substance man had. And Philip saw that man’s provision was insufficient. He failed to look on the unseen, Almighty Jehovah God on High, Who gladly supplieth all our needs according to Thy Great, Unlimited Riches in Glory. Almighty Lord God, save me from failing this test as Philip did. Please cause me to ever look to God in strong faith for my every need and my every supply.

“One of his disciples, An’drew, Si’mon Pe’ter’s brother, saith unto him,” (Verse 8)

“There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many?” (Verse 9)

Almighty Lord God, please teach me how that Andrew also failed this test when Thou didst prove Thy disciples. Andrew also looked only on the little substance that man had and he readily perceived it to be insufficient. I cry out to Thee, Lord God. Please thoroughly convince me that my own energies, abilities, and resources will always be insufficient. Convince me that I must always, constantly look to Thee in strong faith for Thee to miraculously add the increase from Thy Unlimited Bounty in Heaven. I look to Almighty God to daily supply my every need according to Thy Riches in Glory.

“And Je’sus said, Make the men sit down. Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand.” (Verse 10)

Lord Jesus Christ, reveal to me the deep and most blessed meaning of Thy Important Command in this verse. Convince me there are times when Thou doest command us believers to sit down, cease our own striving and efforts, and receive much goodness, supply, and blessing from Thee on High, freely given to us by Thy Great Mercies and Grace. Please give me strong faith to believe this important Truth, and to always be keenly listening for Thy Still, Small Voice commanding me to sit down and watch Thou work miracles for me. And keep me mindful to always, constantly offer thanksgiving unto Thee for all Thy Great Goodness.

Almighty Lord God, I worship Thee for Thy Completeness and Perfection. Long before this day, Thou didst know that a great multitude of souls would sit here with The Lord Jesus on this day. Thus in Thy Perfect Care and Compassion for us, Thou didst create much grass here to make a comfortable, natural cushion upon which they all sat. I fervently worship Thee, Precious Lord, for Thy Great Compassion and Care.

“And Je’sus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would.” (Verse 11)

Almighty Lord God, please cause me to be ever so careful to always first give Thee thanks each time before I partake of food. How blessed I am to have sufficient food to eat. Many people do not have enough food. Save me from the awful sin of being ungrateful to Thee for providing my necessary food.

Teach me Thy Order of these deeds recorded here. After giving thanks, Thou didst distributed to the disciples who then distributed to the seated people. Please make me Thy disciple. Please teach me Spiritual Truths that all souls should know, so that I then in turn can teach these Truths to other souls. Please give me faith to see Thee make me into a great channel of many blessings to many other needy souls.

Lord God, arrest my attention on this important Truth of these many thousands of souls eating as much bread and fish as they would, fed to the full by a miracle wrought by Almighty God. I worship Thee in that Thou didst fill them and satisfy their hunger completely. Almighty Jehovah God, I heartily worship Thee as my Sufficient, Complete, and Abundant Supply. Lack of faith in Almighty God to supply our needs, is so clearly illustrated here in Philip and Andrew’s confessions. All they did was to look on the visible and confess that it was terribly lacking. Please save me from such sinful lack of faith. Please help me to always look to Heaven for Almighty God’s Infinite Supply.

Please convince me that my own abilities and resources will always be most insufficient. Therefore teach me to fully yield my being and all my resources and possessions to Thee. And then enable me to look always unto Almighty God in firm, unwavering faith for Thee to add a great, miraculous increase from Heaven above.

“When they were filled, he said unto his disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost.” (Verse 12)

Almighty Lord Jehovah God, I worship Thee as my Creator God Who completely fills and perfectly satisfies the people who trust in Thee and look to Thee in faith for all their supply.

Lord Jesus Christ, please cause me to think deeply on this command of Thine in this verse. Thou didst miraculously multiply a very small portion of food into an enormous volume that filled everyone present (thousands of people) to the full. Thus it seems reasonable to man’s natural mind to think there is no need to gather up the remaining fragments (food scraps). Why, The Lord could easily again work the same miracle any time a hungry multitude is present. So let’s just leave the scraps for the birds. After all, birds have to eat also. Lord, cause me to carefully observe that such was not Thy Mind at all. Thou didst command that no fragment be lost. Thus, Thou doest forbid us to waste our resources, which are all blessings from Thee. Please reveal to me what an awful sin waste is. Save me from the sin of wasting my energies, talents, time, and the resources and possessions with which Thou hast so bountifully blessed me. Please teach me to use my all to its fullest for Thy Great Glory and to always have a most generous heart to help needy people.

Therefore they gathered them together, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves, which remained over and above unto them that had eaten.” (Verse 13)

Almighty Lord God, please train me to return to Thee constant thanksgiving for the bountiful life that Thou doest bestow upon me. Please help me to always be temperate in partaking of Thy Gracious Bounty. Please save me from the sins of gluttony and of heaping treasures upon myself. Please teach me to live temperately and to cheerfully give all the surplus unto Thee and to needy souls on this earth.

“Then those men, when they had seen the miracle that Je’sus did, said, This is of a truth that prophet that should come into the world.” (Verse 14)

Lord Jesus Christ, I confess that Thou art Almighty God Himself. I worship Thee as my Creator God. I worship Thee as The True God Who performs miracles for us needy human souls. I now call upon Thee to show me great and glorious things that I know not. Please give me the strongest faith possible for a human creature to have in Thee, Almighty God.

“When Je’sus therefore perceived that they would come and take him by force, to make him a king, he departed again into a mountain himself alone.” (Verse 15)

Lord Jesus Christ, please save me from the awful sin of ever trying to force my will upon Thee, Almighty God. Please teach me to always do the exact opposite and thus fully submit myself to Thy Will. Teach me the importance of prayer, and lead me to always pray in accordance to Thy Divine Will. Save me from praying to Almighty God out of selfish motives. Lord Jesus, I confess that Thou art the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. I worship Thee as my Master, my Lord, my King, and my All in ALL. Thou art most Precious Lord Jesus.

“And when even was now come, his disciples went down unto the sea,” (Verse 16)

“And entered into a ship, and went over the sea toward Ca-per’-na-um. And it was now dark, and Je’sus was not come to them.” (Verse 17)

Lord Jesus Christ, please come unto me. Please always walk ever so close to me all the way thru my earthly journey thru this sinfully dark, devil’s world. Please give me strong, unshakable faith to always believe on Thee as my God and Saviour and as the One Mediator between God the Father and man. Please fill me with Thy Holy Spirit and help me to never doubt that Thou art with me. No matter how dark the night around me and no matter how difficult my circumstances become, please give me firm assurance of Thy Everlasting Presence with me to shield and protect me. Thou art my shield, Lord Jesus.

“And the sea arose by reason of a great wind that blew.” (Verse 18)

Lord Jesus, please always be near and dear to me to comfort and protect me during all the storms of life. Help me to truly make Thee the Captain of my life’s ship on this most stormy sea of life. No matter how rough and boisterous the sea of life becomes, please calm my soul and fill me with Almighty God’s Perfect Peace. I worship Thee as the Prince of Peace. Please wrap me up in Thy Loving, Precious Care and never let me go, I desperately pray, Lord Jesus.

“So when they had rowed about five and twenty or thirty furlongs, they see Je’sus walking on the sea, and drawing nigh unto the ship: and they were afraid.” (Verse 19)

Lord Jesus Christ, I worship Thee as Almighty God Who walks on water. I worship Thee as Master of the storm. I worship Thee as a Great and Terrible God who ought to be feared. Please teach me Godly fear and reverence toward Thee. Please give me clear spiritual perception to recognize Thee each time Thou doest come unto me.

“But he saith unto them, It is I; be not afraid.”(Verse 20)

Lord Jesus Christ, I worship Thee as my Almighty Creator God Who dispels all my fears. Right now, please dispel all my fears.

“Then they willingly received him into the ship: and immediately the ship was at the land whither they went.” (Verse 21)

Lord Jesus, please work powerfully in my heart and life to cause me to willingly and joyfully receive Thee into my heart and life and to give Thee first place in all aspects of my life. I confess that Thou didst work a miracle here to immediately put the ship at land. Please work great miracles for me today and every day to make my daily life most victorious.

“The day following, when the people which stood on the other side of the sea saw that there was none other boat there, save that one where into his disciples were entered, and that Je’sus went not with his disciples into the boat, but that his disciples were gone away alone;” (Verse 22)

(Howbeit there came other boats from Ti-be’ri-as nigh unto the place where they did eat bread, after that the Lord had given thanks:)” (Verse 23)

Lord Jesus Christ, I heartily give Thee thanks for each and every bite of food Thou doest provide for me and for my family. Praise Thy Great Name for keeping us from starving.

“When the people therefore saw that Je’sus was not there, neither his disciples, they also took shipping, and came to Ca-per’na-um, seeking for Jesus.” (Verse 24)

Lord Jesus Christ, please stir up my heart to seek Thee with all my heart, soul, and might. I pray that Thou wouldest cause all souls on this earth to seek Thee with all their hearts. Where art Thou, Lord Jesus? I pray that I might find Thee.

“And when they had found him on the other side of the sea, they said unto him, Rab’bi, when camest thou hither?” (Verse 25)

Lord Jesus, please give me the assurance that Thou wilt of a certainty be found by anyone who earnestly seeks for Thee. I earnestly desire to find Thee and to know Thee fully. Please reveal Thyself unto me, I earnestly pray. Please show me God’s Great Glory.

“Je’sus answered them and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled.” (Verse 26)

Lord Jesus Christ, please save me from the sin and vanity of seeking Thee for selfish reasons. Please help me to first seek the kingdom of God and God’s Righteousness, knowing that Thou hast promised to add all these other things unto me if only I will do that.

“Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.” (Verse 27)

Lord Jesus, please save me from labouring for the meat that perisheth. Please guide me to labour for the meat that endureth unto everlasting life. I ask Thee, Lord Jesus, to please give unto me the meat that endureth unto everlasting life. Help me to daily labour diligently, Lord Jesus, for Thy cause. I confess that God the Father hath sealed Thee, Lord Jesus. Please teach me what that means.

“Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?” (Verse 28)

Lord Jesus, please teach me what I should do, that I might work the works of God. Please give me a zealous desire to work for my Creator God and please guide me into all the works Thou hast ordained I do for Thee during my life on this earth. Save me from leaving a single one of them undone.

“Je’sus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.” (Verse 29)

Almighty Lord Jehovah God in the Highest Heaven, I confess that Thou didst send Thy Son Christ into this world to save me from my sins. I confess that Thy Son is Jesus of Nazareth. I confess that the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth is the Saviour of the world. I confess that it is the work of Almighty God for any human soul to believe on The Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God the Father. Almighty Lord God on High, please stir up within me a burning, passionate desire to work the work of God my Creator. Please give me True Faith to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ Whom Thou hast sent. I pray that all other human souls on this earth will work the work of their Creator God by believing on Name of The Lord Jesus Christ.

“They said therefore unto him, What sign shewest thou then, that we may see, and believe thee? what doest thou work? (Verse 30)

Almighty Lord God in Heaven, please help me to fully yield myself to Thee for the purpose of Thee creating within me Pure and Perfect Faith in my Creator God. Please grant me strong, unwavering faith toward Thee that has no need to see signs, wonders, miracles, or such in order to believe on Thee. Please give me unshakable faith to believe each word in Thy Holy Bible, even tho much adversity may come my way and even tho I may see no signs from Heaven.

“Our fathers did eat man’-na in the desert; as it is written, HE GAVE THEM BREAD FROM HEAVEN TO EAT.” (Verse 31)

Almighty Lord Jehovah God in Heaven, please give me Spiritual Bread from Heaven in abundance. Please feed my hungry spirit and soul and thus fulfill every longing in my heart. I confess that only Jesus can satisfy my soul. Sweet Jesus, Thou art all I need.

“Then Je’sus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Mo’ses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven.” (Verse 32)

Lord Jesus Christ, I humbly and heartily thank Thee for this precious hope-filled promise that God the Father will give True Bread from Heaven to those souls who believe on Thee. Our Father which art in Heaven, I now earnestly ask Thee in the Name of The Lord Jesus Christ and for His Precious Name’s Sake, please now give me The True Bread from Heaven. Please feed my hungry, starving, barren soul and spirit to the full with The True Bread from Heaven.

“For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.” (Verse 33)

Heavenly Father Jehovah God, I confess that The Lord Jesus Christ is the Bread of God which cometh down from Heaven. I confess that The Lord Jesus Christ giveth life unto the world. Lord Jesus Christ, I worship Thee as The True Bread of God which cometh down from Heaven. Thank Thee, Lord Jesus, for coming to this earth to reveal Almighty God to sinful mankind. Lord Jesus, I worship Thee as God the Son Who giveth life unto the world. Please give me the Bread of God. Please give me eternal life. Please give me True Faith in God. I earnestly pray these things for all human souls now on earth.

“Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread.” (Verse 34)

Lord Jesus Christ, right now, I too, ask of Thee. Please evermore give me this Bread of God which cometh down from Heaven to give life unto me. I earnestly pray that all souls now on this earth will cry out to Thee, Lord Jesus, for Thee to give them the Bread of Life evermore. Our Father which art in Heaven, I humbly ask Thee to be attentive to these prayers of mine. Please help me to pray from a sincere heart. Please hear and answer all these prayers of mine in accordance to Thy Divine Will. I ask all these things in the High and Holy Name of The Lord Jesus Christ, and I ask them all for The Lord Jesus Christ’s Precious Name’s Sake. Heavenly Father, please think on me for good, for The Lord Jesus Christ’s Precious Name’s Sake. Thank Thee, Heavenly Father, for bestowing rich mercies and grace upon me by hearing and answering these prayers.
