THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO JOHN
Chapter 2
Abba Father, I earnestly cry out unto Thee, asking
for Thy Holy Spirit to work mightily within me to teach me fully the meaning of
each word in this 2nd chapter of John. Please perfect my knowledge
and wisdom of all the Scriptures in this chapter, enable me to perfectly apply
all of them to my own life, and then guide and help me to proclaim all of them
in Holy Ghost Power to every soul I can.
“And
the third day there was a marriage in Ca’-na of Gal’i-lee; and the mother of
Jesus was there:” (Verse 1)
Almighty
Lord Jehovah God, please convince me that 1 man and 1 woman joining together in
marriage is Holy matrimony ordained by Thee for this human race that Thou hast
created. Convince me that man and woman coming together, becoming one flesh,
outside of the bonds of sacred marriage, constitutes the sin of fornication or
the sin of adultery, sins that condemn the guilty soul to an eternal hell.
“And
both Je’sus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage.” (Verse 2)
“And
when they wanted wine, the mother of Je’sus saith unto him, They have no wine.”
(Verse 3)
Lord
Jesus, please convince me that any time I have any need, that I should first
come to Thee, asking Thee in faith to supply my each and every need according
to Thy Riches in Glory. Convince the entire human race to come to Thee for all
their needs to be supplied.
“Je’sus
saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee?
mine hour is not yet come.” (Verse 4)
Lord Jesus, please teach and guide me to commune
with Thee and to always commune with Thee in accordance to Thy Will and in
accordance to Thy Timing.
“His
mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.” (Verse 5)
Lord Jesus Christ, please create within me a heart
that desires to be totally obedient to Thee, doing any and every thing
whatsoever Thou sayest unto me to do. Please help me to yield myself totally to
Thee for that purpose.
“And
there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying
of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece.” (Verse 6)
Lord Jesus Christ, please help me to fully yield
myself to Thee for the purpose of Thee purifying me and making me clean in Thy
Sight.
“Jesus
saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim.”(Verse 7)
Lord Jesus, just as these people immediately obeyed
Thy command to them, please create within me a heart that will promptly obey
Thy every command to me, never wavering nor questioning Thee.
“And
he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the
governor of the feast. And they bare it.” (Verse
8)
“When
the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not
whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of
the feast called the bridegroom,” (Verse 9)
Lord
Jesus Christ, I desire to be Thy servant. I desire to know fully of all the
wonderful deeds that Thou doest do. Please teach me fully of all Thy ways and deeds.
Convince me that all good things come down to us from God the Father. Please
help me to delight myself in Thee, my Lord and my God, in order for Thee to
then in turn give me the desires of my heart.
“And
saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when
men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine
until now.” (Verse 10)
Lord
Jesus Christ, please convince me beyond all doubt that while on this earth Thou
didst never had any dealings with strong drink, beverages containing alcohol,
intoxicating wine, or such. Convince me of the Biblical Truth that “the new wine is found in the cluster.” (Isaiah 65:8) Please convince me that the
Scripture records of Thee having dealings with “wine” all refer to “new wine” (fresh grape juice) that is found in a cluster of
grapes. Please save me from having anything to do with intoxicating drinks.
Help me to oppose this destructive tool of the devil, just as Thy Holy
Scriptures oppose all strong drink.
Also
from this verse, teach me how that the devil, at the beginning sets before me
the deceptive, but most alluring attractions of the devil’s world which quickly
turn in the worse perdition and destruction after a soul becomes enslaved to
them. Please save me from such deception by the devil. Please train me not to
balk at following in Thy Footsteps because it is a path of much hardship and
suffering. Teach me how that following The Lord Jesus is a Path that shineth
brighter and brighter until that day, and that The Path of The Saviour leads to
the eternal, perfect bliss of Heaven. I worship Thee, Lord Jesus Christ,
because Thou doest keep the best until the last, for those who will believe on
Thee and worship Thee. Truly, it gets sweeter as the days go by, praise
God!
“This
beginning of miracles did Je’sus in Ca’na of Gal’i-lee, and manifested forth
his glory; and his disciples believed on him.” (Verse 11)
Lord
Jesus Christ, convince me that Thou art Almighty God Who can do anything. Teach
me about the many great miracles Thou doest daily perform. Right now,
please enable me to fully open my life and my entire being to Thee, My
Creator God, for the purpose of Thee starting to work wonderful miracles in my
life for my benefit and for Thy Great Glory. Tell me of the Glorious Miracles
Thou desirest to do for me. Manifest forth Thy Great Glory to me, please. Please give me living faith to fully believe
on Thee as my Lord, my God, and my Saviour. Please make me one of Thy disciples.
Cause me to seek Thee and all that is Thine with a most fervent zeal.
“After
this he went down to Ca-per’-na-um, he, and his mother, and his brethren, and
his disciples: and they continued there not many days. (Verse 12)
Lord
Jesus, please teach me how that when Thou (Almighty God the Son in Heaven)
didst become man (human flesh) that Thou wast conceived in the womb of the
virgin Mary by God the Holy Spirit, and born into this world as man. Teach me
how that Mary’s earthly husband, Joseph, is not Thy father. Teach me how that
Joseph did not know Mary (did not become one flesh with her) until after Thy
earthly birth. Teach me how that after Thy earthly birth as a man, then
Joseph knew his wife, Mary, in the intimate way of husband and wife becoming
one flesh in Holy matrimony, and that Almighty God blessed their Holy union of
marriage with several offspring (children). Teach me how that Jesus’ brethren
mentioned in this Scripture are the children of Joseph and Mary. Convince me of
the Divine Truth that Mary did not remain a perpetual virgin thru out her life
on earth. Teach me the Divine Truth that Mary is not the mother of God. Save me
from all falsehood.
Lord
Jesus, it blesses me to read here of Thee traveling on foot with Thy disciples.
Please make me Thy disciple, and teach me to walk with Thee daily.
“And
the Jews’ passover was at hand, and Jesus went up to Je-ru’sa-lem,” (Verse 13)
“And
found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers
of money sitting:” (Verse 14)
Almighty
Lord God in Heaven, please teach me clearly of all the evil that is inherent in
money and in the world’s system of buying and selling. Please save me from
loving money. Please save me from making money and the things that money can
buy into my god.
“And
when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple,
and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers’ money, and overthrew
the tables;” (Verse 15)
Almighty
Lord God on High, please reveal to me the great extent of the magnitude of Thy Great
Wrath toward all sin and evil. Reveal to me the great magnitude of Thy Holy
Hatred against all of mankind’s wrong doings. Convince me that Thou art angry
with the wicked all the day long. Please teach me the Fear of the Lord God.
Please guide me to serve Thee with fear and to rejoice with trembling.
“And
said unto them that sold doves, Take these
things hence; make not my Father’s house an house of merchandise.” (Verse 16)
Lord
Jesus Christ, I humbly pray that Thou wouldest keep all Christian believers
from making Thy Father’s house into an house of merchandise. I especially pray
that all church pastors and all church leaders throughout the world would be
diligent to guard against making the church house into a house of merchandise.
“And
his disciples remembered that it was written, THE ZEAL OF THINE HOUSE HATH
EATEN ME UP.” (Verse 17)
Our
Father which art in Heaven, I humbly pray that Thou wouldest give me this same
burning, consuming zeal for Thou House here on earth. Teach me how that in this
age, this in the church house where Christian believers meet to worship
Thee.
“Then
answered the Jews and said unto him, What sign shewest thou unto us, seeing
that thou doest these things?” (Verse 18)
“Je’sus
answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in
three days I will raise it up.” (Verse
19)
“Then
said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou
rear it up in three days?” (Verse 20)
“But
he spake of the temple of his body.” (Verse 21)
“When
therefore he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said
this unto them: and they believed the scripture, and the word which Je’sus had
said.” (Verse 22)
Lord
Jesus Christ, please give me firm and steadfast living faith from Almighty God
on High to believe that Thou didst rise from the dead three days after Thou
didst die on the cross for my sins and was then buried in the tomb. Convince me
that Thou doest live forever, never to die again. Please convince me that Thou
art the Resurrection and Life. Please become my Resurrection and Life. Please
give me strong faith in Almighty God my Creator to believe all the Holy
Scriptures in the Holy Bible. Please give me unshakable faith to believe every
word that Thou doest speak.
“Now
when he was in Je-ru’sa-lem at the passover, in the feast day, many believed in
his name, when they saw the miracles which he did.” (Verse 23)
Lord Jesus Christ, please create within my being a
passionate, burning, consuming desire to fully believe on Thee. Please grant me
True Faith to believe in Thy Name, The Lord Jesus Christ. I pray that all other
people on earth will believe in Thou Name. Right now, please show us all, the
miracles that Thou doest perform. Let us hear the thunder of Thy Almighty Power
from Heaven. Please powerfully pour out Thy Holy Ghost Power upon all mankind
to cause all to believe.
“But
Je’sus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men.” (Verse 24)
Lord Jesus Christ, please convince me that Thou
doest know every thing about me, my every thought, word, and deed. Teach me to
fear Thee as an All-Knowing and an All-Powerful God, and my soon-coming Judge.
Teach me to follow Thy Perfect Example of not committing myself unto other people.
Help me not to put my trust in fickle mankind, but instead to fully trust in
Thee, My Almighty Creator God.
“And
needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man.” (Verse
25)
Lord Jesus Christ, I confess that Thou doest know all
the sin that is within me. Please reveal to me all that is within me. Please
reveal all my sins unto me. Save me from being deceived by my own heart. Please
forgive me of all my sins and cleanse me from my sins by Thy Precious Blood
that Thou didst shed on the cross for me.
Almighty
Heavenly Father, I pray all these things in this chapter for all the human
souls presently on this earth. I humbly pray all these prayers in the High and
Holy Name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Thus I ask Thee to please be attentive to
these humble prayers of mine and to please answer them all in accordance to Thy
Divine Will, for the Lord Jesus Christ’s Precious Name Sake. Amen.
