THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO JOHN
Chapter 3
Abba
Father, I humbly cry unto Thee and beg Thee to send Thy Holy Spirit powerfully
upon me to teach me the fullest meaning of each word in this 3rd
chapter of John. Please perfect my knowledge and wisdom of these Holy
Scriptures. Please enable me to perfectly apply all of them to my life for Thy
Great Glory, and guide me to proclaim them in the fullness of Holy Ghost Power
to ever person I possible can.
“There
was a man of the Phar’i-sees, named Nic-o-de’mus, a ruler of the Jews:” (Verse
1)
“The
same came to Je’sus by night, and said unto him, Rab’bi, we know that thou art
a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest,
except God be with him.” (Verse 2)
Lord
Jesus Christ, I confess that Thou art more than just a “teacher” come from God.
I confess that Thou art God the Son. I confess that Thou doest miracles because
Thou art Almighty God Who can do any thing. Please work miracles for me, for my
benefit and for Thy Glory.
“Jesus
answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto
thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” (Verse 3)
Lord Jesus, please cause me to desire to see the
kingdom of God. Please cause me to desire to be born again. Please teach me
exactly what it means to be born again.
“Nic-o-de’mus
saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second
time into his mother’s womb, and be born?” (Verse 4)
Lord Jesus Christ, please teach me how that I can be
born again when I am old.
“Je’sus
answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee,
Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the
kingdom of God.” (Verse 5)
Lord
Jesus, I desire to enter into the kingdom of God. I desire to be born of water
and of the Spirit. By the Almighty Power of God the Holy Spirit, please make me
into a new creature, born again of God’s Spirit.
“That
which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is
spirit.” (Verse 6)
Lord
Jesus Christ, by Almighty God’s Holy Spirit’s Power, please give me a new birth
and thus make me into a spiritual being. Please send God The Holy Spirit into
my spirit to make my dead spirit alive and to dwell in my spirit.
“Marvel
not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.” (Verse 7)
Lord Jesus, I believe the Truth Thou doest proclaim
in this verse, that I must be born again. So please help me to right now fully
submit my entire being to my Creator God and to wholly open up my being to God
for the purpose of The Holy Spirit coming into my spirit to dwell and to make
me a born-again new creature in Christ.
“The
wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst
not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born
of the Spirit.” (Verse 8)
Lord
Jesus Christ, I desire to be born of God’s Spirit. Tho I cannot now fully
understand the meaning of being born again of God, please help me to accept it
by faith in The One Living God, just as I accept the wind blowing at its will.
“Nic-o-de’mus
answered and said unto him, How can these things be?” (Verse 9)
Heavenly Father, by Thy Holy Spirit, please explain
to me how these things can be.
“Je’sus
answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Is’ra-el,
and knowest not these things?” (Verse 10)
Almighty Lord Jehovah God, I confess that there are
many things I do not know about Thee and spiritual matters pertaining to God.
By Thy Holy Spirit, please teach me all of God’s Spiritual Truths I need to
know.
“Verily,
verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have
seen; and ye receive not our witness.” (Verse
11)
Lord Jesus Christ, I desire to receive Thy Witness
and to believe all Thy Words because all Thy Words are truth. Please give me a
heart that is receptive towards Thee and that believes all Thy Words.
“If I
have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I
tell you of heavenly things?” (Verse 12)
Lord Jesus, please give me faith to believe all the
heavenly things Thou doest teach me in Thy Holy Bible.
“And
no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the
Son of man which is in heaven.” (Verse
13)
Lord
Jesus Christ, I confess that Thou art the Son of man that came down from
Heaven. I confess that Thou art Almighty God and art omnipresent. I worship
Thee as the Son of man and as Omnipresent God Who is in Heaven and on
earth.
“And as
Mo’ses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be
lifted up:” (Verse 14)
Lord Jesus, I confess that Thou wast lifted up on
the cross to die for my sins, and for the sins of all mankind. Thank Thee for
Thy Great Love for me. I worship Thee for this Great Sacrifice Thou didst make
for me.
“That
whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.” (Verse 15)
Almighty
Lord God, I do not want to perish. Therefore I cry out to Thee to have great
mercy on me to save me from perishing. I confess that living faith in The
Living God is a Gift of God. Please grant unto me this Gift of Living Faith to
wholly believe in God The Son, Jesus Christ, Who is the Saviour of the world.
Please grant me Eternal Life in The Lord Jesus Christ.
“For
God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever
believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (Verse 16)
Almighty
Lord Jehovah God the Father, I worship Thee for the Great Love Thou hast for me.
I worship Thee for giving The Life of Thy Only Begotten Son as a sacrifice for
my sins, to that now I have a chance to live forever, if I repent of my sins
and trust in Christ. I desire to believe in The Lord Jesus to thus be saved
from perishing in a never-ending Hell of torments. I desire to receive God’s
Everlasting Life in Jesus Christ. Please grant my request of True Living Faith
in the True Living God.
“For
God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world
through him might be saved.” (Verse 17)
Our
Father which art in Heaven, I heartily worship Thee for Thy Great Mercy and
Grace manifested in Thy Desire to not condemn me to the punishment of my sins
in an eternal Hell, but rather Thou art lovingly desirous to save me. Thank
Thee, Heavenly Father, for granting me the chance to be saved eternally. I
desire to be saved. I desire not to perish.
“He
that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned
already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of
God.” (Verse 18)
Almighty
Lord Jehovah God, I confess that any human soul who believes on The Lord Jesus
Christ is not condemned. Praise be to Almighty God on High for this Salvation
from condemnation. I worship Thee for such Wonderful Salvation. Please grant it
to me. Please grant me True Faith. I pray for all lost souls in the world, as
they are now under the condemnation of their sins because they have not
believed on The Lord Jesus Christ. By Thy Holy Spirit’s Almighty Power, please
draw all lost souls on earth to Christ to be saved.
“And
this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved
darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.” (Verse 19)
Lord
Jesus Christ, I confess that Thou art Almighty God’s True Light of the world
that hast come into this world and lighteth every human soul on earth. I
worship Thee, Lord Jesus, as the Light of the world. Almighty Lord Jehovah God,
please create within my being a powerful, Holy hatred for spiritual darkness.
Please cause me to hate spiritual darkness and to shun it. Please draw me to
God’s True Light. Shine Thy Pure Light into my heart to show me all the evil in
my heart and being. Please create within me a heart that is repentant toward Thee
of all my many evil deeds. Please forgive me of my evil deeds and save me from
doing evil deeds.
“For
every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest
his deeds should be reproved.” (Verse 20)
Almighty
Lord God, please save me from doing evil. Please save me from the awful and
destructive sin of hating God’s True Light. Please give me a deep love for
God’s Light. Lord God, I desire to come to Thy Pure and Marvelous Light. Please
draw me to Thy Glorious Light. Please save me from shunning God’s reproof of my
evil and sinful deeds. Please send Thy Holy Spirit into my life to reprove my
deeds.
“But
he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest,
that they are wrought in God.” (Verse 21)
Almighty
Lord God on High, I proclaim unto Thee that I desire to do truth. Please teach
and guide me to do truth, and please guide me to come to God’s Light. Lead me
to God’s Divine Light and help me to always walk in Thy Wondrous Light. Please
make my deeds to be deeds that are wrought in God. Please make all my deeds
right in Almighty God’s Sight and make me desirous to have my deeds manifested
to God and to all mankind.
“After
these things came Jesus and his disciples into the land of Ju-dae’a; and there
he tarried with them, and baptized.” (Verse 22)
Lord Jesus Christ, please make me into Thy disciple
and lead me to walk with Thee all day every day of my life on this earth.
Please teach me all I should know about a Christian believer being baptized in
the Name of God the Father, The Son, and The Holy Ghost.
“And
John also was baptizing in Ae’non near to Sa’lim, because there was much water
there: and they came, and were baptized.” (Verse 23)
Almighty
Lord God, please teach me how that God-ordained baptism is the act of a
Christian leader completely immersing a new Christian believer under the
surface of a body of water, and then raising up the believer out of the water.
The act of being immersed under the water testifies that the new believer is
identified with Christ’s death and burial. It testifies that the new believer
is now dead to self, sin, and the world. It testifies that the new believer
buries his or her old life and also buries the devil’s world under that water,
crucifying the flesh with Christ on the cross. The new believer rising up out
of the water testifies of his or her identify with Christ’s resurrection, now
to live a new life in Christ, with all the old life of sin and evil now dead,
buried, and passed away. Please teach me how that simply sprinkling a few drops
of water on a new believer does not constitute Biblical baptism. Teach me how
that Biblical baptism is strictly only for Christian believers who give a clear
public testimony that they have repented of their sins and have put their trust
in the Lord Jesus Christ to save them.
“For
John was not yet cast into prison.” (Verse 24) Lord
Jesus Christ, please prepare me to suffer persecution for Thy Precious Name’s
Sake. Teach me how that just as the Lord Jesus Christ suffered in the flesh for
us Christian believers, we too are to arm ourselves with the same mind, that of
suffering in the flesh for Christ’s Name sake. Please teach me what a precious
privilege that is. I pray for all Christian believers on earth who are now
being persecuted. Give them strong faith and boldness to stand faithfully for
Thee. Protect them. Provide the necessities of life for them. May Thy Love,
Comfort, and Grace always be sufficient for them in their fiery trials of
affliction.
“Then
there arose a question between some of John’s disciples and the Jews about
purifying.” (Verse 25)
Lord
Jesus, please teach me how that Thou doest cleanse Christian believers from
their sins by Thy Precious Blood that Thou didst shed on the cross for the sins
of mankind. Please cleanse me and purify me by Thy Shed Blood.
“And
they came unto John, and said unto him, Rab’bi, he that was with thee beyond
Jor’dan, to whom thou barest witness, behold, the same baptizeth, and all men
come to him.” (Verse 26)
Lord Jesus, please draw me unto Thee. Please draw
all human souls unto Thee. May every human soul on this earth come to Thee for
eternal life and salvation. Please cause all Christian believers on this earth
to daily lift Thee high in order for Thee to draw all men unto Thee.
“John
answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from
heaven.” (Verse 27)
Almighty
Lord Jehovah, my Creator God, I desire to receive every good, merciful, and
gracious gift from Heaven that Thou hast in store for me. Guide and teach me as
to how to receive those gifts. Cause my soul and spirit to deeply hunger and
thirst for the fullness of God.
“Ye
yourselves bear me witness, that I said, I am not the Christ, but that I am
sent before him.” (Verse 28)
“He
that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which
standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice:
this my joy therefore is fulfilled.” (Verse 29)
Lord
Jesus Christ, teach me how that Thou art the bridegroom and those people who
believe on Thee become Thy bride. Please make me a member of Thy bride. Please
let me hear Thy Voice. Please cause me to rejoice at the sound of Thy Voice.
Please cause my joy be fulfilled in Thee.
“He
must increase, but I must decrease.” (Verse 30)
Almighty
God, please cause me to decrease, to become more humble and lowly in perfect
accordance to Thy Divine Will for my life, so that Christ may increase and be
exalted in my life. Thus The Lord Jesus Christ will be greatly glorified thru
my life that belongeth to him. Save me from the vanity of seeking great things
for myself.
“He
that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and
speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all.” (Verse 31)
Lord Jesus Christ, I proclaim that Thou art Almighty
God Who came to this earth from Heaven above and that Thou art above all. I
worship Thee, Lord Jesus Christ, as Almighty God.
“And
what he hath seen and heard, that he testifieth; and no man receiveth his
testimony.” (Verse 32)
Lord
Jesus Christ, please create within me a new heart and a new mind that will
receive all of Thy Testimony. Please clearly speak to me the Spiritual Truths
of Almighty God that I need to hear. Please give me ears to hear them, a mind
to thoroughly understand them, and a heart and will to obey all Thy Words unto
me. Perfect me, my Lord, I humbly pray.
“He
that hath received his testimony hath set to his seal that God is true.” (Verse
33)
Our
Father which art in Heaven, I desire to receive the Testimony of The Lord Jesus
Christ. I desire to set to my seal, that God is True. Right now, by Thy
Almighty Power, please perfect these marvelous things in my life for Thy Great
Glory.
“For
he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit
by measure unto him.” (Verse 34)
Almighty
Lord Jehovah God, please send me to speak the words of God to every human soul
I possibly can. Please give me Thy Holy Spirit without measure. I now
completely open my heart unto Thee for Thee to give me the fullness of Thy Holy
Ghost’s Power without measure. Fill me to overflowing, I earnestly and humbly
pray.
“The
Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand.” (Verse 35)
Heavenly Father, I confess that Thou lovest the Son,
Jesus Christ, and that Thou hast given all things into His Hand. Lord Jesus
Christ, I confess that I am in thy Hand. I confess that Thou doest have full
Power and Control over me. Please mold and make me into exactly what Thou
wouldest have me to be. Help me to wholly yield myself to Thee for that
purpose.
“He
that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the
Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.” (Verse 36)
Heavenly
Father, I confess that the person who believes on God the Son, Jesus Christ,
hath everlasting life. Please give me perfect faith to believe on Jesus Christ.
I confess that the souls who believe not on Jesus Christ shall not see life,
but that the wrath of God abideth on them. I intercede for all lost souls.
Please save them all, Lord Jesus.
Almighty
Heavenly Father on High, I humbly ask all these things I have prayed in this
chapter in the High and Holy Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and beg Thee to
hear me for the Lord Jesus’ Precious Name’s Sake. Amen!
