CHRIST IS ALL
Summer
2021 (June, July, August)
Dear Friend in Christ,
Much outdoor evangelism during this Summer, thanks be to God! Back
in May, I began going to elementary and junior hi schools in my area in the
afternoon as the students leave school. In Japan, students leaving school
each afternoon is a totally different scene from what it is in much of the US
(loading onto large yellow school buses and those buses roaring out from the
school parking lot onto a wide street or highway).
First of all, in most all cases in Japan, public schools: elementary, then
junior hi (grades 7 thru 9), then hi school (grades 10 thru 12) are each separate
schools, separately located from each other, tho in some cases, elementary and jr hi schools are adjacent to each other, but distinctly
divided from each other.
Until around 1990, the elementary school kids walked to and from
school. There were very few and rare exceptions to that rule. In this densely
population nation, typically there is a grammar school within a mile or so of
all people. Some 1st graders walk close to a mile each morning, to
school. These little kids are forbidden to ride their bicycles to school (that
deemed too dangerous for the little ones). Previously, parents were more or less forbidden to drive their kids to school and to
come for them by car in the afternoon. But as people become more “spoiled
rotten”, that rule just didn’t hold up. So, presently, the kids that are most
“spoiled rotten” are chauffeured to and from grammar school by Mama San
Limousine Service ( a very small limo).
Jr Hi kids walk or ride their bicycles to and from school, but
increasingly are also chauffeured by Mama San Limousine Service. Some ride the
train to a jr hi school of their choice further from
home.
Senior High students walk, ride bicycles or motorbikes or
trains, or ride with Mama San. In Japan, the earliest age one can get a
drivers’ license for cars is age 18. Even the 12th graders who turn
18 before hi school graduation, usually wait till after hi school graduation
before getting a car drivers’ license, usually starting a required long and
expensive drivers’ school education and practice driving while still in 12th
grade. Licenses to “drive” motorbikes are issued from age 16. But no
Senior Hi school student drives a car to school in Japan.
Hope you enjoyed reading all I wrote above about life in Japan
for the “youn’uns”. Anyway, I said all that to say that in these densely
populated towns and cities, on school days, from about 2:45 PM to 6 PM or so,
there are streams of kids walking or riding bicycles out from the public
schools. After normal classroom periods of study end in mid-afternoon, various
extra curricular activities and sports practice result in the kids straggling
out at various times, making for a blessed afternoon for me preaching to
them near the school.
It was October 1977 when I first “ministered” to Japanese young
ones in this setting (me near a school as they left in the afternoon on foot or
on bicycle). At that time, they were highly receptive to me and to the saving
Gospel of Christ (1977). But during the passing 44 years since then, they have steadily
increasingly turned against me and against words of their Creator God.
One main powerful weapon the devil and his world has used to enslave them ever
so strongly, is the devil’s hi tech world, especially
the almost infinite number of images of devils and evil spirits that the kids
constantly “play with” and stare at on their hi tech games. These dazzling,
moving images steal their hearts like nothing on earth ever has before. That
statement is no exaggeration.
In 1977, practically 100% of grammar school kids would take a
kids’ tract I offered to them. Now, only 20% to 30% or so, on the average.
Presently, I seldom ever hold out a tract for them to take from my hand. They
are most reluctant to take from my hand now, Covid being one reason. So I made a small stand in which I put children’s booklets,
with a sign saying “Please take one free.” I stand nearby singing hymns. Up to
30% or so of the grammar school kids will take a booklet, if
schoolteachers or other adults nearby do not interfere. But increasingly,
one or more teachers will come to that spot if they see me and forbid the kids
to take the booklets. Sometimes other adults nearby do the same. The “meaty”
hymns I choose (and stand there singing with all my might), go right into all
ears present, kids and adults alike, for them to recall on Judgment Day, when
they are judged for rejecting the One Hope for all mankind, including being
judged for their actions this day when I held forth the word of life to them. Mercy
on them, Lord, I plead.
“AND HAVING DONE ALL, TO STAND. STAND THEREFORE.” Ephesians
Chapter 6
That is precisely what I do. Stand before them, calling them to come to Christ. Please intercede in prayer for them.
Also, thru the summer, I have stood my post at the rescue mission in the summer resort town of Karuizawa. During that time, a good many souls have entered, mainly to buy what I have for sale. Some take Christian literature. I sing hymns. When not singing, I broadcast hymn singing and Bible preaching and teaching (in the Japanese language, on CDs and cassette tapes). Please intercede for lost souls who are hearing beautiful words of life.
The following is 1 page that I recently included with my postal monthly news I mail out on paper. I first made it large to be easily read on this web site. The 2nd copy of it is the size print that will fit on 1 sheet of paper. Please consider downloading it, printing it, and making copies to pass on to all souls that you possibly can. I would greatly appreciate it. Ask your pastor if you may set a stack of copies out on a table in Sunday morning church, and announce they are free for the taking.
Thank you for praying. You who donate to my missionary efforts in Japan, I greatly appreciate your giving. May our Lord richly bless and reward you for each and every thing that you do for me.

When the fallen human race became so unrighteous that God drowned
it (save 8 souls), He had Noah preach righteousness to
them (2nd Peter 2:5), “while the ark was a preparing” (up to 100
years,). “The wickedness of man was
great in the earth…corrupt…filled with violence” (Gen 6) God gives us only scant details of that wickedness,
little (1) “content” of Noah’s preaching, & none of the rebels’ reaction,
opposition to it, tho many modern preachers adlib dramatic scenes of such.
I marvel at the brevity of this account when I consider the much
O.T. detail of God’s chosen race, the Israelites, (as they steadily departed
from their God) being clearly warned by prophets & in turn persecuting
& killing many of those prophets, & finally the horrible suffering in
captivity as God’s punishment. “Now
all these things happened unto them for examples: and they are written
for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world
are come.” (1st Cor.
10:11) Heed!
Upon falling, the next time their Creator comes to
them, Adam & Eve hide from Him (Gen. 3:8). Later, His chosen race
steadily departs from Him into deep sin, bringing on terrible
punishment. Then in the New Testament, The Lord Jesus Christ’s own body (His
church) steadily departs from Him until He spews the final
Laodicean church out of His Mouth. I am a vintage 1946 model human vehicle.
From the late 1950s on, I observed masses of fickle souls reading “end of the
world” books because the content was exciting. The authors adamantly set
“Rapture” dates or ventured strong guesses. “The Rapture will occur in the
1970s.” Come 1980: “Definitely during the 80s!” Come 1990: “Christ will have
to return for us Christians before the year 2000.” Thus, many fickle, vain
churchgoers well learned that The Lord Jesus Christ does not have to do
one single thing they tell Him to do. Glory to His Great Name! Let us humble ourselves
before God!
“And just before it gets real bad, the
Lord will rapture us Christians out to Heaven.” From about 1970 till 2000, I
frequently heard that & similar remarks by Laodicean churchgoers. Too bad I
never thought to ask one of them, “Well then, just what is meant by the Lord
spewing the Laodicean church out of His Mouth. Read carefully the entire short
book of Lamentations to see exactly how painful & deadly life became for
God’s Own Beloved Chosen Nation, Israel. I have come to believe
that when our Lord spews the Laodicean church out of His Mouth, it will be that
bad or worse. I earnestly pray that you will be one who
overcometh. Please pray the same for me.
Seriously
consider each word in Lamentations. “Pleasant” is a most pleasant word, is it
not? 1:7 “Jerusalem remembered in the days of her affliction and of her
miseries all her pleasant things that she had in the days of old…” 1:10
“The adversary hath spread out his hand on all her pleasant things…” 1:11
“All her people sigh, they seek bread; they have given their pleasant
things for meat to relieve the soul…” 2:4 “He…slew all that were pleasant
to the eye in the tabernacle of the daughter of Zion: he poured out his fury
like fire.” Seldom do preachers preach Lamentations because
Laodicean churchgoers desire not to hear it. It’ll come upon you anyway!!
On September 11, 2001, our life lost much of its pleasantness,
never to again regain it during “time on earth”, I believe. As the year
2020 started, a plague (virus) destroyed ever so much pleasantness of
life, never to be regained during “time on earth”, I believe. Watch
closely to see if such misery and death does not increase until everyone from
atop a dunghill howls Lam 5:16 ”Woe unto us that we have sinned!” (Before the rapture ) From…let’s
say…about 1965 to 1985, I observed many Laodicean churchgoers snugly
proclaiming “And just before it gets real bad, Christ is going to rapture us
out.” Their mouths and bellies were often full of banqueting food in the house
of God, where also their frequent recreation there gave them many thrills, confident
that the Trump of God would summons them to blissful Heaven from that fun
setting. “They that did feed
delicately are desolate in the streets: they that were brought up in scarlet
embrace dunghills.” (Lam. 4:5) Likely when
the Trump sounds, that is where we will be, howling “Woe unto us, that we have sinned.” Now, let’s truly repent, fast, pray
& preach God’s righteousness..
(1st Peter 4:1) “For as much then as Christ hath
suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same
mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin.” Amen!
As our Lord leads you, please copy this & distribute it to
others. Please pray for me as I hold forth the word of life in Japan. You who
send offerings, thank you immensely for that help.
