Summer 2024 (June, July, August)

Dear Fellow “Accepted In The Beloved”,

June 2024: In His Rich Mercy & Grace, our Perfect Creator God is making it ever so easy for any human soul presently on earth to believe His Holy Bible. “And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire. And men were scorched with great heat…” (Revelation 16:8-9) Presently the Judge of all the earth is giving many locales on earth a “warm” preview of this prophecy, as the “hot” end time fulfillment of it, is now drawing ever so nigh. A merciful God is afflicting the human race on earth in this manner, desiring that the affliction bring all rebellious sinners to repentance. Truly, He is most gracious and just to us all.

God hath shown great mercy to me by placing me in the cool mountains of central Japan now, as I pen these words on the last day of June. Also, I am slap dab in the midst of a multitude of lost Buddhist and Shintoist Japanese souls in this tourist town of Karuizawa, daily holding forth the Word of Life to them. Truly, I am the most bless-ed human soul on the face of this earth.

Thank you, my friend reading this, for being part of my Japan missionary work, as I major on preaching the Saving Gospel to multitudes of lost souls in deep spiritual darkness. God bless you for interceding in prevailing prayer for their salvation. Thank you for giving offerings, so I can eat watermelon in the hot summer, to stay hydrated. The price of fresh fruits and veggies has skyrocketed in Japan over the past 10 years. Likely, that is also the case where you buy grub. (Health Tip: Watermelon is said to hydrate better than water.)

I am in the Rescue Mission on a 140-yard-long, active, side street (Tennis Court Lane) in Karuizawa Town. At the far end of this lane are the famous tennis courts where the Japanese emperor’s family plays tennis occasionally. They also come here to escape Tokyo’s summer heat. I have been in very close vicinity to his family at times, they simply being lost souls who need the Saviour, and who go to the same Hell as the lowest Japanese sinner who dies lost and undone.

Please intercede for the salvation of the Sooka Gakkai man who lives 15 yards from the Rescue Mission on this lane lined with tiny shops. They own a 3-story building. The 1st floor is 3 tiny rental shops. They live on the 2nd and 3rd floors. Sooka Gakkai is not the family name, but rather the religion they are in. The man and wife are most friendly to me, past 60 years old, I estimate. The man is hard of hearing, idle, regularly ambling along this famous lane, wanting to chat with anyone who will let him. One day, he said to me in a jovial manner, “I am Sooka Gakkai. You are Christian. The Italian man with the café right there is Catholic. And the Pakistani guy with the Persian carpet store next to him is Muslim. We have a good supply of religion on this street.” Chuckling, he went on his way…toward HELL, where Religions lead to. He daily hears and sees the Saving Gospel I broadcast. Save many, O Lord!

July: This hot month, I’m most highly privileged to daily hold forth the word of life in this rescue mission/thrift shop in cool mountain air with a stream of lost souls daily walking past its front. The street is narrow, fairly quiet. So my voice carries all way across it as I stand in the shop’s front area, singing praises to mankind’s Creator. Most richly bless-ed am I, with points and above. Intercede with me, please, for the salvation of many souls.

As I type this in the small room behind the “shop space”, one 74-year-old Japanese man is inside. I perceive he doesn’t have a life. Yesterday, he came in for the first time, talked long. He is alone on summer travel for pleasure; evidently, plenty lonely and bored in general. Talks long with anyone who will allow it. Right now, a recording by some Japanese Christian friends of the reading of my prayer book is flowing into his ears and heart from an audio player. “Holy Spirit, speak to his soul SO powerfully, I plead.”

Upon standing for a while singing praise, I often take a break by pushing the “Play” button on the Spiritual Broadcasting, go into the back room, close the sliding door between it and the shop, and lie down with feet & legs propped up to almost a 90 degree angle against the wall. On the shop side of that sliding door is my handwritten sign, “I’m in here, so call out to me.” Resting in such manner, I fiercely intercede for the many lost souls passing by. Each such day is the height of Joy Unspeakable And Full Of Glory. God richly bless you who support me!

Health Tip: Lying on one’s back with legs elevated for more than 20 minutes greatly aids blood circulation by aiding blood settled unduly in lower legs and feet to return to higher body areas, where God ordained it be. I customarily do that 3 times or so a day, for 30 minutes or longer. It makes for a rich prayer time. About 4 decades ago, I read that 100 years ago, Chinese rickshaw pullers practiced that, against tired legs. The higher the leg angle, the better benefit!

Almost no one enters this store space seeking spiritual help. Most souls come in to buy. A few to ask me to teach them English Conversation, which I do. Most daily-use items I put out for sale are donated to me by people around here who needeth them not. Most are used (in good condition), but some are new. I price each of them dirt-cheap. Customers are stunned by the “give-away” price. When they ask me why so cheap, I often reply, “It’s the grace of Jesus Christ. Let’s always thank Jesus for His Grace.” They care NOT to hear such talk. Hard Hearts, they be!!!

August: Let the redeemed of the Lord say so!

To whom do you think our Lord commands us blood-bought, redeemed children of the King to proclaim that glorious, redeemed status? Think on what your honest answer is to that question. My answer is: “To every human soul that we possibly can, starting with neighbors in our nearest vicinity!”

August is the most crowded month in this cool mountain tourist town of Karuizawa, where my Lord graciously places my unprofitable servant carcass, in a tiny storefront, where a stream of lost and undone humanity files past daily, on hoof, seeking the many thrills of the devil’s world, that abound on these streets, where I’m most highly privileged and richly blessed to lift up my off-key, out-of-tune voice in praise to our Creator God for redeeming me.

The majority of the lost Buddhist Japanese who hear my voice, ignore and shun me, many of their faces turning sour as they do so. A good number of missionaries and their kids walk by also, as they conduct many summer “doings” in the Union Church less than 200 yards away. Overall, their faces are more sour toward me, especially rude teenage kids of theirs. One such boy bellowed out part of the song Amazing Grace in a sarcastic mocking voice, hoofing past me in a small flock of missionary teenage kids. Judge, Lord!

“Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.” (2nd Tim 2:3) Present-day lukewarm Laodicean church folks cannot even endure the sour faces that materialize in front of them if they sing of their Redeemer in out in public amongst the human race. (barbourbooks.com)Read! Heroes Of The Faith Series: Title: “Gladys Aylward”. Tiny British woman missionary constantly suffering, constantly being one step away from death for 2 decades in Russia and China in the early 1900s. Read it aloud to children under 12 years old. World War 2 in ChinaThat small lady, dodging Chinese communist soldiers, plus Japanese soldiers who put a monetary reward death warrant on her head; escaping on footleading 100 Chinese vagabond precious children up and down steep mountains often with no trail, the entire group starving, sick, deathly fatigued, injured by falling, Japanese bullets, and such.

Reading it to your kids and their friends will likely keep them more enthralled than the many evil, moving images on glowing screens that they are addicted to. And when you finish reading that book, then look at yourself in your mirror and reminisce with SELF thus wise: “She suffered and endured all that excruciating hardship and danger that expended her life on earth in 67 years. And I am ashamed to confront sour faces out in public here, by simply standing out of everyone’s way in public and singing: “I will sing of my Redeemer and His Wondrous Love to me…”

Set our hearts on fire for Thee, Mighty Lord Jesus!
